MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Making an appointment to donate blood is easy - and it can earn you additional points too. In fact you automatically earn 10 points every single time you make an advance appointment using our convenient online scheduling system. Just visit our regional web site at DonateBloodNow.org or go directly to the online scheduling page, complete with an easy-to-use map and a listing of every open-to-the-public blood drive for the next 8 weeks.
Of course, you can always call us toll-free at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543), and one of our Donor Satisfaction specialists will be happy to assist you. Either way, you’ll be able to find an opportunity to give the “Gift of Life” at a time and a place that is convenient for you. If you are an Apheresis donor, please call 1-800-545-4086.
Why make your appointment in advance? Well, there are several reasons. First, it helps insure that you can reserve the time slot you prefer before it fills up. Secondly, it helps us make sure that the drive you are attending is staffed sufficiently by giving us an idea of how many donors are likely to participate. Finally - and perhaps most importantly - making an advance appointment automatically removes you from all phone or mail recruitment lists until your appointment date.
This is a tremendous benefit, yet many donors don’t realize that this is the best way to reduce or eliminate phone calls and unnecessary mailings. It’s a win-win scenario, because the Red Cross also saves time, money, and resources when donors schedule their next appointment on their own.
